Welcome to
My name is Loh Eng Soon Eric and I have been a full time classical guitar teacher since 2009, having taught hundreds of students from 12 years old and upwards. I love meeting new learners of any skill level and guiding young and adult students in developing excellent musicianship!
I have taught classical specific techniques, pieces and music theory concepts to hundreds of students over the years, passing on information taught to me by masters of the instrument at the London College of Music. Having guided so many avid players of varying abilities, I have attained a well rounded understanding of the steps required to achieve results quickly and efficiently.
My own musical achievements have included gaining a series of classical guitar focussed diplomas from prestigious institutes in London, including the London College of Music for whom I work as an exam representative. I am also a principle study lecturer with Singapore Raffles Music College and owner of Poco Music Studio LLP, through which I have taught many flourishing players.

Lessons are hosted online through Zoom meaning that no matter where you are in the world, I am only a few clicks away. Much of my student base is now online and so I am well versed in presenting information and assessing players remotely.
Video call technology has allowed the opportunity to get the ball rolling for all types of guitar player, and I will always find myself eager to encourage students during their process. Each lesson will be filled with logically presented material in an enthusiastic, relaxed manner.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I teach all ages from 12 years old upwards, with many of my students being adults of varying levels of ability. I highly enjoy guiding experienced players towards taking their next step, and I will always love nurturing new beginners by introducing important habits that will keep them one step ahead.
As well as having studied guitar in London and gaining an array of diplomas in teaching and performance, I have taught students of classical guitar for over a decade.
I have guided 50 LCME grade 8 and diploma classical guitar students throughout recent years, and have enjoyed running my own accredited centre of examinations; Poco Music Studio LLP.
My extensive experience has made me adept at identifying subtle habits and keeping learners progressing with use of proven teaching techniques and methods.
My lessons are structured to provide students with clarity and focus. Most progress is achieved outside of lessons, and efficiency is key when it comes to practicing so my lessons will help set clear goals and strategies. It is my priority that students know exactly how to bring their playing to the next level.
It is crucial however, that learners feel relaxed and motivated to keep the ball rolling. I always keep lessons casual, encouraging and exciting for all who wish to progress their playing.
Each lesson is uniquely tailored to the individual learner. Rate of development, current skill level and specific musical interests in each student all contribute to a series of variables that must always be taken into account in order to benefit each student as much as possible.
Learning through devices such as laptops, tablets and even mobile phones has proven to provide unprecedented convenience to students seeking specialist guidance. Once set up, all you need do to prepare for lessons is turn your device on and accept the call.
Learning to use Zoom does not have to be a daunting process. In fact, setting up the software on your machine is quite straight forward and will only need to be done once.
After completing the installation of Zoom, you will be sent a link via email from which you can access our lessons. Through these lessons, you will receive the same, effective feedback as you would expect from an in person 1-1.
For those who may still have reservations about online learning, it is certainly worth noting that I have had great success with a diverse range of students through Zoom lessons. Ultimately, as long as I can see and hear your playing, my feedback and support will always be informed and pinpointed towards taking your playing further.
My years of experience as a classical guitar teacher continues to provide students all over the world with expert guidance and enthusiastic support. I pride myself on keeping lessons encouraging, efficient and enjoyable.
[email protected]My lessons cost $18 per half an hour.
My lessons take place on Zoom, an easy to use and powerful video calling software that can be installed on most devices with an internet connection.
I teach children from 12 years old upwards, to senior adults. It is important to recognise that it is never too late to pick up a musical instrument, and many of my adult learners have achieved incredible results in their playing during the time that I have been teaching them.
You are not required to attend a lesson each week, however I do suggest that students leave no more than two weeks between each appointment. This is simply so that you may get the best out of our lessons, with information and practice fresh in your minds ready to tackle the next challenge.
If you must cancel a lesson, that is no problem. Life can throw us surprises at any time, so I am happy to make changes to our booked appointments. However, I do insist that students abide by a 48 hour cancellation policy. This simply means that in order to cancel a lesson, you must inform me 48 hours or more prior to the agreed time slot.
