About

About

Hey , it’s Tom here. I currently teach at the Guildford School of Acting and Italia Conti as well as teaching a small number of clients at home (In Guildford), all whilst working as a professional Actor. Therefore, whilst I would love to guarantee every enquiry translates to lessons right away, it is for this reason that I keep my client poole small each term in order to serve them sufficiently. If I cannot fit you in this term, I will add you to the waiting list.

I specialise in Musical Theatre but teach all genres; classical to pop/rock. I have performed in west end shows such as Miss Saigon, Joseph, Footloose, Bare, Coram Boy & am currently playing ‘Banquo’ in the brand new musical ‘Lady M’. This industry experience in conjunction with my formal teaching qualifications & experience teaching in high education is what, I believe, makes lessons with me unique.

I teach all abilities & experiences; novice to west end professionals in person & online. I have clients spanning from Broadway performers to an airline pilot to a CEO of a corporate business. If you’d like to enquire/speak with current /past students about lessons with me, then please get in touch.

“I can’t thank you enough for the training you have provided me with since September. I feel that I have grown hugely in my singing ability and I can’t wait to continue putting the skills you have equipped me with into practise, wherever that may be.”

“Very encouraging and felt that he tailored exercises for you as an individual to help you improve instead of it being generic for every student.”

“I feel much more comfortable with my voice, especially with singing higher notes, I have exercises and skills to reach higher notes in my voice and feel confident in doing so. Overall I feel better in my singing ability and I have Tom to thank for that.”

“To think that my son will be going to a top drama school in September is crazy. The improvement that I’ve seen in my sons technique and confidence is unbelievable. Tom has helped with motivation and drive, something my son struggled with. He would not be where he is now without Toms help. Thank you!”

“He always seemed to bring a laid back and relaxed atmosphere to the classes, this helped soften the experience for me. Made it less stressful, I wasn’t too concerned about being perfect but trying to find the best way to approach a song for me. It was clear from the beginning that he was comfortable meeting new people, it never felt awkward or forced, he was such a fun tutor to work with, which in turn made any task set, more relaxed and easy to approach”

“Tom gave a wide variety of different warm up exercises that I know I will continue to use to warm up my voice before singing. He perpetuated the idea of character approach, letting that enforce the choices and bring a sense of authenticity to the song, which I love.”

“He is very passionate, very fun and knows what he is talking about. He made the whole process an ease for someone who isn’t very confident with singing.

“I would sum up my journey as being very positive as I am able to see how far I have come from September to now. My objective was to find and work on my mix which I do feel I have achieved as I am now able to sing songs I would not have done before and have done this safely to not cause any damage. Thank you Tom, loving the lessons”

“Great, I loved learning new vocal warm up exercises and new ways to use my voice. Stretching the voice, vocal power and greater singing confidence is what I wanted, and I feel so much better already.”
