I have been learning guitar with Richard for nearly 3 years. When I joined I had a small amount of self taught experience, with some bad habits, but Richard quickly got to work setting me on the right path and working on the right way to do things. Every lesson is an experience, tailored to my personal taste in music, and driving me forwards in terms of level of skill and difficulty, whilst always being conscious of when things may be slightly beyond reach for my current level.

He’s a truly exceptional and highly respected guitarist and teacher, who will not only get you to where you want to be as a player, but will also expand your experience in music along the way.

When I got to Richard I was at a musical stop in the road thought I couldn’t get any better. I have been attending Richards lessons for nearly 3 years he has vast knowledge, skill and talent to teach you songs you want to learn and write your own stuff and record it all in a calm and safe environment. Not only that an hour’s lesson is exceptionally reasonable in price.

Great teacher, put me at ease from the start of our lessons and really helped me to develop my guitar playing. Huge wealth of music knowledge and his anecdotes from his time playing in various bands are great. Helped me to start writing my own songs, be confidenct as a guitar player and really enjoy playing again. Highly recommended.

I’ve had lessons with Richard for a few years now, for both Bass and guitar and I consider him as a friend and teacher. He knows just the right level to teach to and how to bring you on what ever level you are. His tabulated sheets are always spot on and I’ve found them to be far more accurate than what you find on line. He also kept me going through lockdown with tabed music sheets and videos through the post.

Been having lessons with Richard for about 2 years now and I can honestly say it’s sped up my progress by about 10x as well and vastly expanding my music taste. From music theory to composition and covers, the lessons have covered an extensive range of skills for a very reasonable price too. One of the loveliest and easiest people to talk to also!

Been having lessons for a few years Richard’s always patience, if your struggling on parts he can always work something out for you, if you put in the time and effort along with what your being taught your soon be having fun, on a plus side if your after a night of fun go along to an expletives gig, been to a few always a great night

Richard is an excellent guitar teacher. He has a passion for music and teaching which is rare to find in most guitar teachers and he always strives to bring out the best in you. If you put in the effort and the time you will get double the effort and time back. He is able to help students at school with their GCSE and if you want to join a band then he also has the contacts.

After always wanting to play an instrument but never having the confidence or opportunity to, this year at age 39 I started with Rich. He made me feel comfortable straight away and having no prior musical experience was not an issue to him at all. In my first lesson he was getting me ‘playing’ beyond my expectations and every lesson since that one has been varied in discovering new music and challenges. I now listen to music in a totally different way. Rich really does tune in to the student and pushes for perfection without being too overwhelming or demanding. I am very pleased with my progress and the tuition received.

Richard is an incredible guitarist and bass player and an awesome teacher. After over 4 years with him I am still in awe of no matter what piece of music I throw at him he can listen to it, play it and break it down so I can play it and continue to develop my playing. His knowledge and understanding of music, and the history of modern music is incredible and he has introduced me to some great new bands. On top of this Richard is an all round top bloke and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I’ve been having lessons with Rich for over two years now. I whole heartedly recommend him. He’s a real gigging musician with a real passion for music and his enthusiasm is contagious. He has a encyclopedic knowledge of rock, metal, punk and pretty much any popular music and pick out and play perfect examples to illustrate his points. Aside from that, he’s a good bloke to talk to anyway! He shows a genuine interest and we have a laugh every lesson. I have to admit, I’m not the most focused student but I’ll often come with some half- baked idea I’ve got and Rich will see the diamond in the rough. He’ll help me develop it, add bass, drums and some amazing embellishments off the top of his head and by the end I’m walking out with a great sounding recording. It’s so much fun and so rewarding. To be fair it’s a lot more than just a guitar lesson. I’ve had other guitar teachers, but Rich is the best by far.

After taking early retirement I wanted to learn to play guitar. Richard’s knowledge, patience and teaching skills has got me to a level I could only dream of. I’m now having a bash at bass, quite successfully if I do say so myself, if you want to learn you won’t find a better tutor.

Richard is a great teacher who allows you to progress at your own rate, using your own preferred choice of music. He’s incredibly patient, listens to concerns and guides you through in a step-by -step manner. I’ve been taking lessons with Richard for a little under two years and have progressed massively in this time.

Richard is a great tutor, he’s knowledgeable, passionate about music and talented. Richard is also a great guy and therefore he’s a pleasure to learn from.

Excellent teacher NOT just a one size fits all approach to teaching but a very much down to earth and friendly way of teaching and will help you grow as a musician by teaching you songs you want to learn and letting you take your own path

He’s one of the better teachers out there. Would differently recommend. I’ve had a lot of fun times while I have had lessons of him. he’s a very good teacher who really cares about his students progress and quality of guitar playing and go’s the extra mile to help.

Rich has been such a great tutor for me in the past 2 years, with the horrors of lockdown to deal with, whenever we’ve been able to meet up and have a face to face lesson it’s made life more enjoyable, Rich is patient and sold when it come to encouragement and support and is a superbly inspiring guitarist , enabling me to play songs I never thought possible.

Richard is a Super teacher I’ve learnt so much in the past year and am well on the way to becoming the player I always wanted – it has been a dream and ambition of mine to play music ever since I was a child and the time effort and reliable commitment that both Rich & I have put in has been very worthwhile.
