About Me

About

I was a student at the Purcell School for Music for 6 years with a full scholarship and will be continuing my studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. I have studied voice and violin since the ages of 4 and 12 and am very passionate about showing other people the enjoyment of it. I passed my Grade 5 theory at the age of 12 and have always seen music as the pathway I will go down.

I love to give the opportunity to younger kids who want to explore their hobbies and some of my students, have grown up to know and love music much more. I was a member of The National Children Orchestra at the age of 10-14 and that was one of the most memorable times of my life, I made friends who I am still in contact with to this day and made music which I will never forget.

I studied violin as the main focus for half my life but then got some insight into vocal studies and decided to pursue that however I never stopped the violin and continued to teach at churches, small masterclasses and individual lessons for students. A big success for my student was getting merit on his Grade 5 exam because he thought he would not pass, I am very proud of all my students. I believe studying music is something that requires dedication and fascination. The students I work with all take music seriously and desire to do the best they are able to with my help. I am just a teacher but good students will come from themselves and I am very happy to be here alongside them to help them progress towards their goals.

I believe that the earlier you begin the easier music is as it is like learning a new language as a child, whereas learning as an adult makes it slightly harder to pick it up. I take students of any age group and am happy to work with what my student wants whether that is casual lessons for enjoyment or lessons with the intent of pursuing a future in music.

I believe I am a very patient and hard-working person who will try my hardest to help my students with their goals and ambitions. I try to build a good foundation of music as this is very important to learn right from the beginning in order to build a good understanding of the theory behind the music as this is very important, though it may not be too fun for younger children. With younger students though it takes slightly longer to learn things, I believe it is important for them to fully understand the depth of music whereas with older students it might be quicker for a full understanding but it is vital to keep reminding yourself and pushing yourself.
