BOOKING DRUM LESSONS

Welcome! I’m Gary, a professional drummer and experienced drum tutor based in Cumbernauld. Whether you are starting out or looking to refine your skills, my private drum lessons are designed to help you reach your musical goals in a focused and supportive environment.

What I Offer

I provide one hour of one to one private tuition covering a range of drum styles including rock, pop, funk, metal, reggae, country and jazz basics. All lessons are in person, held in my fully equipped drum studio in Cumbernauld. My lessons are suitable for students aged ten and up, and I currently teach on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

How I Teach

I’ll teach you everything you need to know from beginner to advanced grades 1 to 8. When you book a drum lesson with me, I’ll create a custom lesson plan using the Rockschool and Trinity Exam syllabi, complemented with my own material — so you’ll be playing drums within your very first lesson.

Whether you’re aiming to play your favourite songs, need help with school or college exams, mastering the rudiments, understanding music theory, entering Trinity & Rockschool exams, or simply just learning to play for fun, let me help you achieve your drumming goals! All my students have passed with either Merit or Distinction.

Pricing and Availability

Each one hour lesson costs thirty four pounds. All lessons are paid in advance and cancellations are charged in full. Availability is limited, so booking in advance is recommended.

Why Learn Drums with Me?

My teaching is backed by years of experience as a live and session drummer. You will learn in a professional, fully equipped space with high quality drums and gear. Lessons are structured, engaging and tailored to each individual. I work especially well with teenagers and adult learners, helping them build confidence and technique in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere.

What My Students Say

“I had a number of lessons with Gary over a period of a couple of years and can’t recommend him highly enough. Gary is very talented, and at times I was blown away with his ability behind a drum kit. His enthusiasm for playing and teaching drums is second to none. Gary’s patient and relaxed nature makes learning enjoyable and I wouldn’t be at the level I’m at now without him. An all round good guy too.” – Scott Smith

“Gary has been teaching my son for a few years now and within the first couple of weeks he was reading basic sheet music! A great tutor who has a rapport with his students.” – Tom Forrest
