About

About

My main mission is to encourage students to discover, or rediscover, their own voices, and to feel free to express themselves in their own unique way.

I myself travelled a long way to get to this stage, and aim to make the journey that little bit easier for others. I have led my own bands, and performed at such high profile venues as the 100 Club, Clapham Grand, The Spice Of Life, The Cobden Club and Jazz After Dark.

I have also directed a community pop choir, assisting them through several local performances, and I have several songs featured on iTunes, Amazon and YouTube. This all started at age 40, and I have no intention of slowing down in the near future! I am particularly passionate about empowering and inspiring other women over 40 to follow their musical dreams.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

I am a certified Speech Level Singing voice teacher. This prestigiuous training was founded by Seth Riggs who coached Michael Jackson and continues to coach Stevie Wonder.

I am also qualified as a Vocal Health First Aider, trained to notice signs of vocal injury and to be able to refer the student to the relevant practitioner as needed. I have extensive vocal teaching experience which includes: one to one, group workshops and choir-leading.

I am mostly self-taught as a keyboard player but have perfect pitch and enjoy working with students on their own original songs as well as covers.

I can also bring recording and arranging training to the mix. I enjoy working with all genres of music and have coached students in French chansons, Greek traditional songs and Gregorian chants – I love it all!

Coming out of a 20 year marriage I realised I had gradually lost my confidence and my voice. Wondering if vocal training might help me regain both, I chose Carol because of the friendly smile on her website, and the way she described her background, experience and approach. Right from the start, Carol made me feel at ease – calm and amazingly knowledgeable, she also has extraordinary intuition so she knows when and how much to challenge me which I love. After just a few sessions, friends, family and colleagues were commenting on how much more confident and assertive I sounded when I spoke. I noticed it myself and this helped me go from strength to strength. I can categorically say that Carol helped me find myself again. For that I’m incredibly grateful.

In my life I have sung around the world. Thousands of concerts. I’ve performed to crowds of 100,000. I know my job. But then I took a break from music and went off to write novels. Then in 2013 I realised it was time to get back onstage. But my voice was shot, and it needed a lot of help so I found the one teacher that could help. Simply put Carol Jack gave me my voice back. Don’t believe me? Go listen to what I do and how I do it. The word magical doesn’t do what she does justice. You want to sing well. Call her.

I started my lessons with Carol as a very nervous, self conscious singer. I had no confidence singing in front of people except two very close friends who were encouraging me to sing and play guitar. Carol’s precise technical knowledge of vocal registers, breathing and vowel shapes, as well as her relaxed, non judgmental approach to teaching meant I soon gained the confidence and techniques to sing material I never would have considered tackling. I am now very comfortable singing in front of people. My friends were amazed at the difference in my vocals after my first course of lessons. I would not hesitate to recommend Carol as a teacher for beginners and advanced singers alike. Her lessons have changed my life.
