My name is Arthur Stanley and I am a full time session guitarist, instructor and music producer based in York. Since graduating with a first class degree in Music Performance in 2016, I have accompanied affiliates of The Voice UK, X Factor and T-Series as part of an extensive variety of professional ensembles.

As a guitar teacher, I have tutored a diverse range of learners; from young beginners to advanced professionals. My priority is to encourage students to keep pushing their skills to the next level, with use of efficient practice techniques, patience and enthusiastic guidance. I love meeting new learners, and watching students grow as well rounded players in their own right. In studying pieces relevant to each individual’s specific musical interests, I will also touch upon important topics such as music theory, aural training and technique fundamentals, that will help create a solid foundation of understanding.

For those wishing to begin their guitar journey from scratch, or for advanced players looking to develop existing skills, my lessons will keep the ball rolling in the right direction. My current students continue to benefit from my years of professional experience, both on stage and in lessons, and I will always enjoy watching them progress towards fulfilling their potential.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

Upon leaving school I was offered a position as part of my former GSCE music teacher’s function band, which I stayed with throughout college. As well as playing in various other bands, I took part in the World Skills event during my time at North Warwickshire & Hinckley College, and played at the UK final at Birmingham’s LG arena.

Upon leaving college with a BTEC triple distinction in music performance, I received an unconditional offer at Coventry University and I am now in my third year on the BA Music Performance course. Throughout the past year I have secured myself as a guitarist for several reputable function bands and duos, received regular employment as a dep guitarist from other professionals from across the country and have MD’d for various bands and artists.

I am currently in the process of launching my own professional function band and jazz duo whilst also finishing my degree at university.
