My Mission

Exciting Lessons

I like to make sure my lessons are always as enjoyable as they are informative for all of my students. I will make sure we aim to learn in a direction that you want to learn in. This might be learning your favourite songs or speeding up your playing, either way, my lesson will be built around want you need and want as a learner of the guitar.

I always maintain a high quality of lessons for all of my students. I will teach you both theory and how to play the songs that you enjoy. I think it's really important to have a good understanding of everything related to guitar. This could be theory, song writing, scales, understanding or learning towards and exam. I full understand that every student is different and I always take a different approach to learning rock guitar with all of my students.

My Lessons

Improve Your Technique

I will teach you all there is to know about rock guitar as well as learning how to improve your technique and more. We can learn about this through exercises that I will prepare as well as material to practice in your own time. We can also learn a lot from songs by your favourite rock bands and even branching into other genres as well to give us a better understanding of how rock songs are built and where rock writing style came from.

I teach a wide range of genres and styles and would be happy to branch out into other styles if you are interested in doing so. No two of my lessons are ever the same. I believe it's my responsibility as a teacher to make sure your lessons are personalised to you. Everyone has different goals and my lessons will always reflect this. If you want to learn songs, techniques, Song writing or anything else, I will be more than happy to make sure we learn in that direction and get you playing your favourite bands in no time.

Beginners & Advanced Students Welcome

I welcome both beginners and advanced students to take my rock guitar lessons. I will base my lesson plan around your playing style and level.

My Experience as a Teacher

I'm an enthusiastic and well-established guitar tutor with over ten years of experience. I have taught people from the ages of 5 to 75 and am available to any student, although I mostly teach young beginners.

I have taught in three different established music schools as well as having many private students over the years. This has allowed me to really hone my abilities as a tutor and develop the early stages of learning guitar into a streamlined but enjoyable process. I know that results are important in order to keep a student engaged and to provide value for money so I like to get my students up and running straight away.

As a career musician, I compose music and play in a band alongside my tutoring. I’ve written music that has appeared on all the major UK TV channels and I play about 75 gigs a year ranging from weddings to professional corporate functions. I’ve also written educational material for a degree course on composition and arrangement. I’d like to think that the fact that I live and breathe music in this way gives me certain credibility as a guitar tutor and is a reflection of my enthusiasm for the instrument.

More About My Lessons

I take a practical approach to teach guitar and encourage students to advance by learning songs they are familiar with and explaining the musical ideas behind them rather than weighing them down early on with theory and repetitive playing.

This is a method that works particularly well with children in my experience – I believe it to be the right balance of fun and education. I can teach acoustic, electric and bass guitar from beginner to intermediate ability and I take great pleasure in doing so. Being a multi-instrumentalist, I'm also happy to teach keyboard/piano and ukulele at the beginner level.

I'm always here to listen to any questions that you might have so I hope that you always feel happy to approach and ask about anything you're having difficulty with.

All you need is an internet connection of at least 3mbps, a working camera and a guitar. Learning online has now become a normal and well established route for students around the world, with my students taking lessons with me from all corners of the globe.

So whether you based in the USA, Europe or beyond I can help you to significantly improve your guitar playing through carefully structured guitar lessons that suit your goals.

In regard to lesson payment I can accept both bank transfer and PayPal. For international students, I would recommend Paypal as it is a secure and well used payment platform. I will provide payment details when organising the lesson. Payment has to be received before the lesson can take place. If you don't send payment then your lesson will not take place.
