About

About

I feel that one of my main strengths as a teacher is being able to draw on my real-world experience as an active and practicing musician in a variety of genres. I have taught and continue to teach students of all ages and all abilities from beginner-level, right up to fellow professionals and I always strive to tailor my lessons to the individual. Many of my students, especially mature students, have specific goals in mind when they come to learn; in these cases, we come up with a syllabus together. Every lesson is planned and specifically tailored to them, and work is set at whatever pace suits best. For students who are interested in taking exams, I often recommend the Rockschool exam board (Grades 1-8) and I’m proud to have a 100% pass rate with all my students achieving a Merit or Distinction on their exam.
With my students, I am keen to pass on all that I have learned and am able to cater lessons to the student’s personal musical tastes, delivering useful information in whatever scenarios and genres they enjoy the most. I have experience teaching from ages 5-65 through my own private lessons, as part of Musicate (an educational programme in which I delivered music workshops to primary aged children all over Gloucestershire) as well as having been the visiting bass guitar and double bass tutor at the renowned Warwick Independent School for over two years. Having started online lessons in March 2020, I now have over three years’ experience in online teaching and have adapted my methods and lesson materials to make the most out virtual lessons. As a result, I’m very honoured to be able to teach students from all corners of the globe!

Cancelation & Rescheduling Policy

I have a very relaxed cancelation policy as I know that the unexpected can always happen. In general I only enforce a cancelation Policy in the event that the Student cancels the lessons regularly with less than 24 hours notice. In this case I ask for half of the full lesson price if the cancelation takes place less than 24 hours before the lesson.
