About

About

I am a vocalist, pianist and songwriter with a BA(Hons) Degree in Professional Musicianship.

I have 6+ teaching experience and have worked at BIMM University, Bristol Rock Centre and Bristol Metropolitan Academy.

My lessons are tailored toward students’ individual goals and musical interests; whether it be playing for fun or working towards exams and auditions. I organise yearly concerts where my students can perform in order to work on their performance skills and confidence (optional).

I started piano and singing training form an early age and won a scholarship to study at a specialist Music School in Turkiye. I continued my studies in the UK with A levels in Music, Music Tech and English Literature. During this time I passed my ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory, Grade 8 Piano and Grade 8 Singing exams. I graduated from BIMM University in 2018 specialising in popular music performance (keys & vocals), performance anxiety, vocal techniques and songwriting. I continue work and research in these areas as I prepare to start my Masters degree.

Alongside teaching I continue to write and record music, my original songs have been played on radio, notably BBC Bristol Radio. I have performed at venues such as The Exhange, The Fleece and Thekla.

From A: Melodi has a great way of making things easy to understand and is very patient when there is something that’s taking a bit longer to click.

From M. : Melodi worked with me to improve areas of weakness in a way no teacher had before. In addition, Melodi encouraged me to develop my own interpretation of the pieces, which helped keep practice fresh. Melodi’s calm encouragement, deep knowledge and perceptive ear were exactly what I needed and helped me surpass all expectations at exam.
