About

About

My name is Luca Tagliafico and I’m a guitarist and third-year student of Popular Music & Recording at the University of Salford. During this course, I am specialising in Pop & Jazz performance and Studio Production.

In my personal music study path, I had the great possibility to study with guitar teachers like Beppe Pini in Como, Italy and with Mel Dean at the University of Salford.

Whilst studying I have been performing as a session musician with few Manchester bands and specialise myself as a producer as well. Alongside I am active with my own band as well as with personal music productions.

I’m currently teaching guitar to students of different ages and abilities both privately at home and for a music school in Manchester. I do also have previous experience back in Italy where I’m from, having collaborated with a private music school for a couple of years. During this experience I was teaching to groups of children aged 7-10, formulating lesson plans and developing the students’ music knowledge.

I am able to teach a variety of different students from beginners to advanced level, focusing mainly on Pop, Rock, Funk, Jazz and Acoustic styles.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

  • BA (Hons) Music: Popular Music & Recording – University of Salford
  • My passion for music and guitar made me desire to have the possibility to pass it on to people who want to get closer to music and learn to play a new instrument. Also, by doing this, creating a stronger music community, with more people involved whilst enjoying not just playing but a solid passion for music.

Extremely talented and a pleasure to learn/play with.

I’ve been getting lessons from Luca for just under 2 months and I’m so pleased with how much I managed to learn so far. The teaching style is very effective and student-friendly for all levels of playing. Personally, I wanted to start lessons because I felt like I didn’t have many goals and I felt like my playing and musicianship wasn’t developing. As soon as I started lessons with Luca I almost immediately had something new and fundamental to work towards which just kept progressing me further with each lesson introducing a brand new topic. He is very friendly and will always explain anything you are unsure of.

Overall, I would highly recommend Luca to anyone who is looking to start guitar lessons.
