About

About

I am a music-obsessed guitar player and a self-produced artist.

I fell in love with the guitar after discovering a 12 bar blues as a kid during an acoustic guitar lesson. I have studied music and guitar for 12 years, and as soon as I graduated from university I started teaching it myself.

I now have over 10 years of experience having taught all ages and levels. I can confidently teach any contemporary genre, music theory and music production in Logic Pro X. For several years I was doing guitar and songwriting workshops at summer rock camps for both teenagers and adults. I have taught many beginners with no experience and watched them go from struggling with their first open chords to getting ready to perform at their local jam night.

I love teaching, it feels like a very natural thing to do, sharing the knowledge I’ve learned and the tricks I’ve picked up along the way.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

I am a professional guitar player, composer and artist with a Bachelors degree in Popular Music Performance.

I have plenty of experience as a live musician, having performed as a session guitarist most notably for Rachel K Collier and Kate Nash.

I have also performed with various function bands for the past 12 years. With my now defunct band, I co-wrote and released two songs with Brian May of Queen in 2020.

At the end of 2020, I released my debut EP as an artist that I wrote myself and co-produced with the music library Tubesounds.

I have had syncs in TV shows such as Emmerdale and Home and Away.

As an older student i have spent a few years trying different teachers with different methods to improve my guitar player with limited sucess.

Feeling like i needed to try lessons one more time i happened upon Isabels advert and have not looked back.

She is patient, knowledgable, and very patient and has always found a way to make things understandable and enjoyable.

Highly recommended.

I have been having guitar lessons with Isabel for around 3.5 years. Initially in person then virtually due to covid restrictions. In both contexts Isabel is a fantastic teacher! She is extremely encouraging whilst making the lessons sufficiently challenging at the same time. The lessons fit together well with a natural and observable progression that is extremely rewarding. I would definitely (& in fact have in the past) recommend her 🙂

Isabel is a wonderful teacher – extremely clear, supportive, kind and empathetic to the learner. She’s always prepared and happy to recap any difficult aspects of playing, whilst offering various different strategies for success. Thank you Isabel!
