About

Welcome to Singing Lessons Cardiff!  My name is Angharad Davies, I am a singing teacher based here in Cardiff tutoring students of all ages and abilities from my music room based in Whitchurch, Cardiff.

Alongside my teaching I am a freelance Mezzo-Soprano and have been involved in a variety of operatic, chamber music and concert platform performances across the UK and abroad, including Sweden, France, Germany and the United Arab Emirates. I have been fortunate to have performed on renowned stages such as Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, Cardiff’s Donald Gordon Theatre, Liverpool’s St George’s Hall, London’s Holland Park and Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace.

This combined experience, both as a singer and as a teacher who is passionate about helping my students to reach their full vocal potential, enables me to deliver extremely high-quality music tuition. I am passionate about performing and teaching alike, working primarily as an opera/classical specialist, who enjoys teaching a wide range of students of all ages, abilities and musical genres (classical, folksong, musical theatre, pop, singer-songwriter, etc). I regularly prepare pupils for ABRSM singing grades, auditions, competitions and eisteddfodau – though this is certainly not compulsory, with many of my students simply learning for their own pleasure.

In combination with my private vocal tuition, I am a visiting vocal tutor at the United World College of the Atlantic and have also very much enjoyed working on teaching projects such as ‘Schools Opera’ workshops in primary schools, a musical theatre project for comprehensive schools and opera workshops for LMPA School of Arts on the Isle of Skye. I hold a PGDip and BMus (Hons) degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where I also completed my DipABRSM in vocal pedagogy. In addition, I am a first language Welsh speaker and offer tuition in both English and Welsh. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

I pride myself on my friendly teaching approach, delivering individually tailored vocal lessons designed to meet the need of each pupil’s voice and ability, whether you are looking to prepare for voice exams or simply improve your confidence and sing for your own pleasure.
