A huge career goal for me is to encourage both children and adults to promote their creative abilities through music. I like to tailor my lessons to the specific needs of the student which includes teaching them songs specifically picked to match their style. This way the lessons are always productive and rewarding at the same time.
My job as a Piano teacher is to identify where the weak areas are and see where it is you want to go. From there we will select and work through both exercises and songs selected specifically to match your style and your Piano playing goals. We will have you playing songs you've always dreamed of before you know it.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
My piano lessons are designed to work around your specifically tastes and goals. I am currently also working in Edgeware as a Piano/Keyboard tutor which means I have much experience working with students of all different ages, musical tastes and backgrounds.
I have been playing Piano and other instruments for just over 15 years. I consider myself fun with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and feel very passionately about the importance of music education.
I am able to provide lessons in a variety of technical exercises such as appregios, scales, music theory, composition as well as having the ability to play in a large selection of, however, lessons are mainly focused on the classical style. I have previously volunteered at the Sacred heart Convent Sri Lanka through which I gained some invaluable experiences and skills.
Currently I am studying in my final year of Music Performance and Composition at Middlesex University London and have completed a music course through ABRSM. These qualifications allow me to provide the in-depth tutoring and guidance needed to get you to that next level.
Whether you're a total beginner looking to learn your first song or you're a seasoned pro looking to brush off some cobwebs, the lessons provided can cater for students of all levels. I enjoy getting to know their tastes and the songs they like and together we can come up with a plan to get you to your Piano playing dreams. Together we will explore the world of music building technique and understanding all the while learning songs that you love.
I do also work as a Piano tutor in other areas across the city. I primarily teach from my home in Harpenden Hertfordshire but I am also more than happy to travel to you if you live within 1 mile of me and have a Piano/Keyboard already set up at home. This is just to ensure setup time and transporting of equipment is kept to a minimum for both people. It's very flexible so which ever way works best for you is fine by me. I like to ensure the lessons are as relaxed as possible but informative at the same time.
London and the surrounding areas is filled from top to bottom with tons of options to try. Here's a few of the slightly closer ones.
Musicale is located on Homecroft, Sun Ln, Harpenden AL5 4GJ and is actually a music school which offers a huge selection of services but specifically has a huge shop. Here you will be able to find all things needed to get up and running.
Britannia Music Shop is located on Office 156, 17, Holywell Hill, St. Albans, AL1 1DT. A slightly smaller store which offers a wide selection of instruments including keyboards.
Oxfam is a huge charity organisation with shops all over the country. Our local one is located 5 Harding Parade, Harpenden AL5 4SW and here you can nearly always find a selection of second hand pianos and instruments to choose from.
My passion for music comes through the lessons and together we can get you playing those songs you've always dreamed of. No matter what age or level you're at, please don't hesitate to get in touch and we can start jamming when you're ready.
[email protected]Lessons are £12 for 30 minutes of one-to-one tuition or £20 for 60 minutes.
The lessons take place from a teaching space in Harpenden (The Cedars, Milton Road Harpenden, AL5 5LQ) but I am also willing to travel to the students home within 1 mile. I find students tend to learn best this way being in that familiar and comfortable environment.
I have experience teaching students of all ages and abilities so any student is welcome (5+).
The lessons are at your own choice. I recommend one hour a week as this tends to yield the most steady and consistent progress but whatever suits you is fne by me.
If you have to cancel a lesson, please give me 48 hours notice. Any lessons cancelled within 48 hours of the lesson can still be charged for. If the lesson needs to be cancelled due to sickness at least 6 hours notice must be given prior to the lesson.
If you're ready to get started get in touch and book your first Piano lesson today!
