Hi everyone, my name is Sergio Morffes & I'm a professional musician offering high quality cuatro lessons for students of all ages. I play a wide range of instruments including guitar, piano and bass as well & have a very well rounded view of music in general. I will make sure our lessons are built around your strengths and weaknesses and we will always learn in a direction that you feel comfortable with. I have a lot of performance experience which I can use to help students gain confidence in their own ability as well.

My Mission

Enjoy Learning

The most important thing for me is enjoyment. I like to make sure all of my students go away with a smile on their face. Learning something new can be difficult so I like to make sure the lessons are free flowing and interesting for all. I will make sure to use music that you're familiar with when learning. Students who learn music that they are familiar with always tend to make better progress.

My lessons are always easy to follow. I understand that everyone learns at different paces and this is why I will build my lesson plan around my students ability level and goals. I think that as a teacher it's my job to make a personalised lesson plan that allows you to work towards personal goals. If you don't have any goals then I'm more than happy to help you find some or guide you until you have a better idea of where you'd like to go with your playing.

Beginners and Advanced Players Welcome

I will always assess your playing level before making a lesson plan and make sure the lessons go ahead at a pace that you can feel comfortable with. I can also help you with music theory, performance, song writing and much more. I can also offer guitar, bass and piano lessons or can help you relate Cuatro to those other instruments.

Learning to play online is a great way to learn. It means you don't have to leave the comfort of your own home when learning something new and it also means your lessons can fit easily into your schedule, even if you have a hectic one.

My Experience as a Teacher

I'm an experienced teacher and player who can play a wide range of instruments as well as having performed a great deal over the years.

In terms of education, I have achieved 2010-2014 Colegio Ciudad Fajardo de Guatire. Bachiller en Ciencias, 2015-2020 UPEL Miranda José Manuel Siso Martínez. Profesor Mención Educación Musical & 2016-2020 (Conservatorio) Escuela de Música Lino Gallardo. Interprete Guitarra Clásica.

On top of that some of my experience includes 2011-2016 Sistema Nacional de Orquestas y Coros Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela, Programa Alma LLanera. Guitarra Clásica, 2011-2016 Guitarra clásica con el profesor Arnaldo Moncada & 2016-2019 Inglés como Lengua Extranjera. Universidad Central de Venezuela, Facultad de Humanidades y Educación, Escuela de Idiomas Modernos, Cursos de Extensión EIM-UCV, FUNDEIM.

More About My Lessons

I play classical and electric guitar, bass, piano and cuatro venezolano, I speak English with fluency, I am also learning more languages by myself Esperanto, Latin, Russian and Japanese.

I was a student at Libertador Experimental Pedagogical University, Pedagogic of Miranda José Manuel Siso Martínez in the specialty of Musical Education. I am a native Spanish speaker and I love reading books about universal literature.

I have extensive knowledge regarding teaching-learning due to my years of experience teaching and studying in college to train as a teacher. I see languages how they are, a way to communicate with other people, which must be lived through meaningful experiences to connect bio-psycho-socially in a student’s learning.

In the past, many have avoided learning online but these days I truly believe it is the best way to learn something with an experienced teacher from the comfort of your own home. As long as you have a computer with a decent internet connection then you're good to go. Many students even use tablets and Ipads to take lessons these days which can be just as easy. Learning online is easy and is no different to learning face to face. I'm more than happy to help you or talk you through it.
