I am comfortable and confident playing and teaching in a wide range of styles and genres. Over my time playing the Violin I have studied a wide variety of of songs and I now have the ability to be able to pass these skills on to you. I will give you all the tools needed to play any style, song or artist that you want.

I feel that it's really important to always be studying songs and styles that you love the most. I find that doing this helps to keep you motivated and driven when practising in between lessons and overcoming the challenges that we all face whilst learning a new instrument. This not only allows you to get better as a player but to be able to play your favorite songs at the end too.

My Experience as a Teacher

I am a very experienced teacher who now has over 40 years of experience working in the music industry both as a performer and a teacher too. I will always call on this experience to make sure I provide you with the highest possible quality lessons that I can. Alongside my teaching, I often perform orchestral and chamber music in my spare time.

I like to try and make sure that my lessons are both fun and enjoyable for all of my students. Learning an instrument can sometimes be a little frustrating and overcoming a lack of inspiration or motivation can be a little difficult. I really feel enjoying what you learn is the most important aspect to ensure you make the most progress.

During my time as a teacher I have achieved many things and one of these includes being the inventor of Things 4 Strings® Bow Hold Accessories: Bow Hold Buddies® & Hold Fish® for Violin / Viola which is a big accomplishment of mine. I am also a registered Teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas among others.

More About My Lessons

I teach the majority of my lessons from a home studio in a central location that is easy for all of my students to find. I like to make sure I provide a relaxed and comfortable learning environment to allow you to grow and develop your skills as a musician. I feel this is very important and helps ensure the lessons are fun and informative.

Saturday group lessons are also offered through Montclair State University John J. Cali School of Music Extension Division. These classes are primarily focused on progress by preparing for Group Concerts, Solo Recitals, and preparation for the annual American String Teacher's Association Certificate Advancement Program Exam.

Many of my students tend to take one 30 minute lesson with me each week. This tends to allow us to make the most consistent and steady progress throughout the course of our lessons. You can however, book the lessons as frequently as suits you, so please just let me know how you would like to arrange it.

Cool Cat Music Company, is probably the best option we have in the area if you are looking for a general music store. As well as a wide range of instruments, they also stock a good selection of music books and accessories. You can find the store at 314 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair, NJ 07042.

Montclair Music, The only other option in the local area we have would be Montclair Music Where you can find a wide range of both new and used instruments. The store is located at 104 Watchung Ave, Upper Montclair, NJ 07043.

Guitar Center, as there aren't really any other local options Guitar Center would be a great online retailer you could try. These ship all over the states, and don't let the name fool you. They not only sell guitars but a huge range of all instruments too including Violins.
