My Mission

Learn to play the guitar through Rockschool or the songs you love.

I specialise in guiding you through The Grades with both RGT and Rockschool (RSL) Exam boards. I coach The RGT Electric Guitar Syllabus, Rockschool Guitar (RSL), RGT Acoustic, RSL Acoustic, RGT Bass Guitar, RSL Bass Guitar, RGT Ukulele, RSL Ukulele. From the early grades through to the advanced exam entry grades.

Don't worry if exams are not for you, I will help you to enjoy playing the songs you want to learn.

Prices:

£25 per 1/2 hour
£32 per 3/4 hour
£38 per hour

Lessons are pay-as-you-go, block bookings, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.

My Experience as a Teacher

I am an experienced teacher who has many years experience in teaching students of all ages in a wide range of styles.

As well as playing in covers bands in my spare time I have Achieved LCM Teaching diplomas level 4 at DipLCM and ALCM as well as all grades to Grade 8 in Electric and Acoustic guitar playing. I also teach Bass guitar Ukulele and Beginners drums here at Studio63.

I also do live performance workshops and band formation in my fully equipped rehearsal studio.

I pride myself on being a down to earth teacher who will always listen to my students and help them to learn in a comfortable way.

I value the importance of learning properly. I believe to learn properly we have to enjoy what we learn and because of this I always aim to make my lessons both informative and enjoyable for all of my students. .

Stoneleigh is a small area but you can still find some good music stores nearby. Here are a few music stores I would recommend checking out if you are looking to buy a guitar or are in the area.

Presto Music, Located at 7 Park St, Leamington Spa CV32 4QN is a great small music shop that stocks a wide range of instruments. The staff are always noted as being very friendly and happy to help customers.

Bass Direct, Located at 12 Rigby Cl, Heathcote Industrial Estate, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick CV34 6TH, is the best place to go if you happen to be in the market for a bass guitar. It's worth noting that they also have an extensive online store with fast delivery.

Guitars & Basses, Is located a little further away at 82 Far Gosford St, Coventry CV1 5DZ. This place is worth the travel though because they probably have the best selection of guitars and basses in the area.

How much do lessons cost?

My lessons are currently charged at £25 per half hour, and £38 per hour for all of my students. I also offer 3/4 of an hour lessons at £32 per lesson.

Where do the lessons take place?

I have a comfortable Studio in Stoneleigh near Epsom and Tolworth just 5 minutes walk from Stoneleigh Station (South West Trains).

What ages do you teach?

I teach both children and adults & would recommend starting no younger than age 8.

Do I have to attend lessons every week?

You can take lessons as and when you like. I would, however, recommend weekly lessons for the best results.

What happens if I have to cancel a lesson?

If you cancel your lesson that is fine but I need 48 hours notice otherwise you will still be charged for the lesson.
