Hello. My name is Filippo Meloni and I'm a professional guitar teacher based in North London and offering high quality mobile guitar lessons in Hackney. I teach students of all abilities, including complete beginners, as well as more advanced guitarist.
I am a mobile guitar teacher, helping students across Hackney learn to play the guitar. I welcome complete beginners, as well as intermediate and advanced guitarists, to attend my lessons that are individually tailored to each one of my students learning needs and overall goals.
I teach both younger learners and adults, helping them learn the songs that inspired them to pick the up the guitar.

I'm an experienced guitarist who is able to teach a wide range of genres including Pop, Folk, Rock, Metal, Blues, Funk & many more. I can help students learning both electric or acoustic guitar, helping my students to improve their technical ability and musical knowledge as they progress through my guitar courses.
I also have experience in teaching both adults and young learners. I will make sure my lessons are set out in a way that is beneficial to the learner, regardless of age. I have a great course of foundation lessons ideally suited for younger students to learn the basics of how to play the guitar.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.

I offer beginner lessons in a wide range of genres
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, all the way back to Cagliari, Italy, where I was born and raised. During these formative years, alongside studying classical guitar, private tuition in jazz guitar particularly fuelled my passion for modern styles, with the music of Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Led Zeppelin, and Pat Metheny providing a window to the fascinating world of rock, jazz, and blues.
Nowadays, as a freelance session guitarist and guitar tutor, I have a wealth of experience in live music, studio recording, session playing, and songwriting and enjoy the versatility and creativity of working across a wide range of genres, from pop and blues to acoustic folk and rock.
As a guitar teacher, I have been catering to beginners as well as those at an intermediate level and beyond.
I teach both electric and acoustic
My lessons are a combination of practice and theory so the student will not only learn how to play a chord or a song, but he/she will also understand how chords and scales work together.
I'm experienced in teaching kids as well as adults, I hold an enhanced DBS check and I can also help the student in case he/she is looking to attend a grade examination. I strive to make my lessons fun and interactive as I always provide bespoke studying materials.
They are personalized to fit the student needs – whether he/she just recently picked up a guitar, he/she is on a more advanced level, or he/she simply needs more inspiration and motivation to develop his/her existing skills. I love teaching and my greatest reward is seeing the student achieve his/her goals!

There are a few great music shops and music venues in the area and here are the ones that I would recommend.
London Modular , is great if you are looking for a local all round music store. You can find them at 14 Felstead Street, London, E9 5LT.
Net Music, located at 24 Stoke Newington High St, Clapton, London N16 7PL, is a great place to keep in mind if you are looking for strings and leads etc.
Folklore, is a great place to go if you are looking for some live music in the area. You can find it at 186 Hackney Rd, London E2 7QL.

My lessons are charged at £20 per half hour and £40 per hour for all students. I also offer discounts for bookings of 5 or more classes.
I offer transcriptions for acoustic and electric guitar, with tabs, standard music notation and lyrics in sync with the score. Please get in touch for a quote - I can also provide examples of previous transcriptions.
I am actually a mobile teacher and happy to travel within Hackney to deliver my guitar lessons. It is an extra £5-10 approx when the lesson is conducted at your house (depending on how far I have to travel). I also offer online guitar lessons. I am also able to offer guitar lessons from my teaching space in Haringey (Seven Sisters).
I think that music should be for everyone and because of this, I offer my services to students of all ages in a wide variety of styles & genres. I would recommend starting no younger than 6.
Weekly lessons are recommended however, some students do take fortnightly lessons.
Any student who wishes to cancel a lesson will need to give at least 24 hours clear notice, in which case no fee will be payable. If less than 24 hours notice is given, then the full cost of the lesson will be payable. I will waive this in exceptional circumstances (family emergencies, accidents etc.) but it will be at my discretion.
To count as a postponement, the re-scheduled lesson must be given within the same week, otherwise it will be treated as a cancellation. I will always do everything I can to re-schedule lessons within the same week but please remember I have other students to see!
I cannot guarantee a full lesson if you arrive late. If I am running late, I will always give you a full lesson and will try to let you know before I arrive that I am running late.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, it’s mandatory we maintain a safe social distancing space at all times if we do lessons in person.
