Hello! My name is Hawi and I am a professional guitar tutor located in Camden. I offer high-quality lessons in the Camden area of London.
I am a very passionate guitarist with over 12 years of teaching experience. I have 30 years experience of playing very many styles of popular music including work with artists such as Amy Winehouse and George Michael. I have extensive experience as a performer, music educator, songwriter and composer.
I am pleased to offer guitar lessons from my teaching studio in Camden, welcoming students from across London to attend lessons. I teach all learning abilities, including complete beginners how to play the guitar, and cover a wide range of musical styles and genres to enable my students to learn the music that inspired them to pick up the guitar.

I have taught students of all levels and ages privately since Spring 2004. I have taught as a guitar tutor at schools such as the Hall School in Wimbledon and the St Thomas More RC Language College as well as colleges such as London Centre for Contemporary Music Southwark, London.
I am pleased to offer lessons in all contemporary genres, however I specialise in teaching Pop, Rock, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Folk and Fingerstyle.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I welcome both beginner and advanced students to take my lessons in a wide range of genres and styles.

I have taught students of all levels and ages privately since Spring 2004. Full DBS disclosure has been obtained for all school teaching work.
Here are a few of my highlights as a professional musician; Joined Sony Records artists Roachford 1987-1994. Performed, recorded, co-produced and took part in promotion of records (including interviews) as band member. Performed and recorded with George Michael and All Saints (1999) including album ‘Songs Of The Last Century’ (Virgin Records) and ‘Saints And Sinners’ (London Records). Performed and recorded with Amy Winehouse (2007-11) including album ‘Back To Black’ deluxe version (Island Records). Below is a video of Amy Winehouse and I performed at the Mercury Music Awards in 2007.
I like to take a student focussed approach to my lessons. Creating a tailored lesson plan based on your interests and goals designed to achieve them whilst playing the music you love.
I am highly skilled in performing many different styles of popular music including Jazz and Improvisation, I have extensive knowledge of theory, harmony and arranging for small or large ensembles. I'm a good motivator and group leader able to inspire students to progress rapidly at their craft and have a good working knowledge of Logic Studio and aspects of music technology.

Established in 1998, this local institution has been providing the Camden community of musicians, teachers, and learners with musical services from instruments, sheet music, accessories and repairs. Dots is suited more to musicians of the classical genre, focusing on new learners of all ages, Dots is the place where students can get everything they need to get started with affordable and dependable products. I'm an experienced performer and guitar player who can help you improve all aspects of your guitar playing in a wide range of ways. I will make a lesson plan that is suited to you and the styles of music that you love. We will always learn at a pace that suits you and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

I am based in Camden Town. I teach the majority of my lessons from a specialised teaching studio on Arlington Road, NW1 7HD. Although I do offer the unique service of mobile lessons. For an additional travel charge I will travel to you for guitar lessons.
I teach students starting from the age of 10 upwards in a wide range of genres. Music is something that should be for everyone.
For the best results I recommend weekly lessons combined with plenty of practice at home.
If you need to cancel or rearrange, please call, text or e-mail me 24 hours before the scheduled lesson. Please see my terms and conditions below:
1. Regular cancellation of lessons may result in you losing your slot.
2. 24 hours notice is required for cancellation of a lesson. If less than 24 hours notice is given, the full lesson fee is charged. (Does not apply in exceptional circumstances).
3. Gift vouchers must be used within six months of purchase. Vouchers may only be used by the recipient. Gift vouchers are non-refundable.
4. For block bookings paid in advance:
(i) Lessons must be taken within 6 months of booking.
(ii) Lessons received up to the point of cancellation will be charged at full rate.
