Starting the piano at 6 years of age, I have always had an underlying love of music. I started the clarinet at age 8 and from here my passion grew. I joined a Youth Marching Band on the clarinet, with whom I entered several competitions with, did a variety of parades, concerts, CD recordings and travelling across England.
Once I reached high school, I went to a variety of summer camps, ranging from Piano Academy’s to Concert Wind Bands. I decided to start doing my grades on the clarinet at age 15 and applied for conservatoires at age 17.
During my time at Leeds College of Music, I encountered a variety of teaching styles and resources. I was involved in several ensembles ranging from trios and quartets to full Orchestras, with whom I did several concerts with.
I started teaching shortly after gaining my degree and have continued to excel in my teaching since. I teach different styles and use different exercises and techniques throughout each lesson. I use a variety of resources and encourage students to make pieces their “own”.
I adapt my music lessons and my approach to each student ensuring the student has learnt something new by the end of each lesson.
