About |
Rachel studied at the Royal Northern College of music and has received a 1:1 Bachelors of Music degree with Honours. As well as a private cello teacher, she is currently the cellist for the UK’s no.1 tribute band. Rachel regularly performs with her quartet and has a passion for teaching and chamber music.
Rachel was taught by the Dalcroze and Kodaly methods from a young age and incorporates these methods into her own teaching through movement and sol-fa. Rachel has several years of experience teaching children to adults, and all abilities. I have found that pupils often have concerns regarding performing with others in the fear of not feeling adequate.
It has been a pleasure to see pupils grow in confidence and realise their worth as aspiring musicians. In lessons it is a priority of mine to make pupils feel at ease and comfortable enough to make and learn from mistakes. She believes that encouraging technique, musicality and confidence in a relaxed and supportive environment is most important to unlock a pupil’s musical potential.
