Guitar Teacher in London
Email: [email protected]
I am a professional musician and guitar tutor (DBS verified) based in London covering all styles but specialising in pop-rock, hard rock, funk and fusion.
I have been working in the UK as a music tutor for the last 7 years teaching classes of all ages at JCM music school and currently at Marie De Bry Arts Academy covering different levels of students, from beginners and intermediate to the more advanced.
Therefore, I have solid experience working both with individual students and groups while I am highly organised, outcome-driven and motivated.
My core values as a teacher are enthusiasm, good communication, patience and passion for teaching and learning new things in music.
I aim to bring the best out of all of my students while every lesson is tailor-made to the individual’s ability and pace.
Music Qualifications & Achievements:
I have graduated from BIMM London (2017) where I was awarded with a Music Bachelor Degree. Over this period in my career, I have attended lessons with some of the finest masters of the instrument like John Wheatcroft, Les Davidson, Jim Clark and have gained recognition following masterclasses with Nile Rodgers, Frank Gambale, Larry Carlton, Vinnie Moore, Mike Stern, Oz Noy, Adam Wakeman, Gerry Leonard, Duff McKagan, Yolanda Charles and Nick Mason among others.
Prior to that I was studying music and taking guitar lessons for another 8 years in my hometown Athens in Greece (Musical Praxis Conservatory & National Conservatory of Athens).
In my career as a musician I have set up several projects performing in a range of styles, including jazz standards and my own original compositions; I have also worked in other genres such as pop/rock, blues, soul, electronic and funk.
My main influences include major international artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins, Carlos Santana, Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Steve Lukather, Nile Rodgers, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Ritchie Blackmore, Scott Henderson, Eric Johnson, Guthrie Govan and many more.
Furthermore, one of the reasons I became a musician was the fact that I had the chance to watch live concerts of some of these iconic musicians from an early age and that was my greatest inspiration after all.
I used to go to concert since the age of 12 accompanied by my sister that was an adult by that time and thus I got the chance to watch live concerts of musicians that I admired the most some of whom I have already mentioned above.
The experience of watching live these individual artists along with bands like Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath, ACDC, Rolling Stones and at the same time being taught guitar by some of the greatest tutors and acclaimed musicians in my hometown was thrilling and made me believe a lot in myself and develop my music skills to a level that I later became a professional musician myself.
I teach my lessons from two locations, a teaching space located in Fulham, London, SW6 6SP and another teaching space in Woolwich, London, SE18 5LE, UK. My full teaching address will be provided upon your first lesson booking. I also offer mobile and online lessons (subject to my availability and your location). For more information about my lessons simply get in touch.
Petros has been teaching my daughter guitar for three years and she really enjoys her lessons with him. She has achieved distinction in both of her guitar exams due to his tuition. He is very pleasant and he is very flexible when it comes to times and days. I would really recommend him as an excellent tutor.
Learning everything i want to learn, easy to understand lessons. Would recommend.
Great teacher who devotes significant interest to make me develop as a musician. I can see huge difference on the way I play the guitar since we started the lessons. Highly recommend!
