I am a film composer, session guitarist, and music teacher, recently awarded a distinction in a master’s in music composition from the University of Southampton. I have 4+ years of experience with 1:1 tuition in the electric guitar, GCSE, and A-level music, as well as music theory and composition.

My professional expertise in performing and composing brings invaluable insights to understanding and teaching music. My specialist skills in music span composition (film and concert music), sound design, arranging, orchestration, and guitar performance. I am communicative, passionate, and approachable to all ages. I am described as having a natural and easy nature for all individuals.

I also teach GCSE and A-level music, as well as music theory (ABRSM 1-8) and guitar performance (Trinity Rock and Pop 1-8).

I ensure lessons are dynamic, interesting, and comfortable learning environments for all students. The aims and ambitions of students are integrated into the learning process very closely. There is also a recognition of the importance of the individual and their specific learning requirements, be it beginner or advanced. I look to make lessons interesting and fun whilst ensuring progression is maintained. My guitar lessons focus on technical approach, stylistic development, and musical professionalism.

I have acquired extensive teaching skills from years of leading music workshops, youth work, and 1-1 instrumental tuition, in turn establishing my professionalism and proficiencies as a musician and teacher. Here I was able to develop and adapt my teaching style to cater to a broad range of people in order to bring out the best in each individual and help them to reach their potential.

Optimism in music is essential – and my passion for music has grown from realising that all individuals have the capability to understand and harness the strengths and complexities of music.

Furthermore, both communication and listening are at the core of my methodology for teaching and understanding the goals, aspirations, and capabilities of all students.
