About

Namaste! My name is Ianthe (pronounced as aay-an-tha). I am an Indian music teacher with over six years of experience in teaching music to children (as young as 3!), young people and adults. Till date, I have created enriching musical experiences with around 4000+ people across 8 countries including India, Nepal, Chile, Portugal, Singapore, Vietnam, Belgium and the UK.

Musically, I am an eclectic vocalist with a strong foundation in Hindustani classical vocal music. I have completed my Sangeet Prabhakar (a six-year diploma equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) in the subject from Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Prayagraj, India. Apart from being a trained singer, I am also a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who can play the drums, ukulele, keyboard, and harmonium.

I am passionate about teaching, and am excited to share my knowledge and love for music with my students. One of the unique aspects of my teaching approach is that I tailor my lessons to the individual needs and interests of each student. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or an advanced student seeking to refine your skills, I can customize my classes to suit your level and style of learning. I also encourage my students to bring their favorite songs and genres to the class, and we work together to explore different techniques and styles. In my classes, I focus on building a strong foundation in music theory, including understanding ragas, talas, and different styles of singing. I also emphasize the importance of developing good breath control, voice modulation, and posture.

With my experience as a multi-instrumentalist, I also offer my students the opportunity to learn and experiment with different instruments, which can enhance their musical skills and creativity. If you are looking for a passionate and experienced music teacher who can help you discover your musical potential, look no further! I offer personalized, fun, and engaging lessons that can help you develop a lifelong love for music. Whether you want to learn Hindustani classical music, Indian folk music, or Bollywood songs, I can guide you on this exciting musical journey. So, come join me, and let’s explore the magic of music together.
