Singing with Fran has been such a wonderful experience. I’d fallen out of habit of properly singing and treating my voice with care, and through our lessons she has managed to boost my confidence and improve my singing along the way. If you’re thinking of going with Fran she’s very calming and lovely to be around. She knows how to move you in the right direction to get the best out of you but won’t push you into doing anything you’re not comfortable with. I would honestly recommend her to anyone who was looking to improve their singing in a friendly and relaxed setting.

For a person with no musical roots/background singing in front of a total stranger can be unthinkably scary. Whilst this was my mindset in the beginning, it didn’t take more than a couple of sessions for me to feel comfortable enough to really go for it.

Fran is a fantastic and friendly coach who puts a strong emphasis on longevity, making sure students are practicing correctly and safely. I feel that I’ve learnt so much and come a long way in the short time that we’ve been working together.

When I’ve told people I’ve started singing lessons, with little historical “talent” for it, I’ve been variously told that I’m brave or insane – but with Fran, it’s felt totally natural. Singing is a learnable, trainable skill – albeit one that involves equal parts focus, vulnerability and silliness – and I’ve never felt out of my depth or unsupported as a beginner in Fran’s lessons, with tangible progress made in the six weeks I’ve been attending. Even if my only audience for the time being is our cat (he has mixed feelings about this), Thursday mornings are a highlight of my week and easily the best money I’ve spent in a long time.

I visited Fran for my first ever singing lesson and was feeling quite nervous. Fran was very patient and helped put me at ease. She checked in with me to make sure that I was comfortable throughout the session which was reassuring and helped get me out of my head. I received useful tips to get started on improving posture and breathing for singing. I would definitely recommend Fran as a patient and knowledgeable teacher for someone looking to learn more about unlocking the potential in their voice.

Fran is really likeable, but don’t let that fool you. She’s fully trained and qualified, and she will get the best out of you as you develop your singing voice – mainly because she has done it herself: she’s a professional singer/songwriter.

She teaches breathing and posture, recovery from injury and expanding range. If you want to be a singer, it isn’t enough to have a beautiful voice – you’ll need to be able to sustain it, and Fran includes that. You’ll gain fitness and confidence. A lot – sounds too good to be true, but Fran’s track record is good.

Fran is a wonderful and patient tutor who has taught my daughter how to sing and to sing with confidence. The collaborative way Fran works has also given my daughter so much confidence in her own voice that she now willingly records. As a parent Fran discusses dates in advance and keeps you informed of any changes to scheduled appointments and when packages are due to expire; which is extremely helpful when you’re managing multiple extra-curricular activities.

Fran is a great musician and teacher. Fran has worked with us on projects where she has been sensitive to the (sometimes challenging) environments and well prepared for teaching each time. Fran is a fantastic singer, she studied at Leeds College of Music, both to graduate with honours, and for a post graduate Masters degree. But she goes well beyond this – she performs regularly both online and live. That tells you that she will inspire you or your child. She’s an excellent teacher. She is patient and caring, and because she understands the physiology, and the theory of harmony, she can help beginners as well as divas. I can recommend her very strongly

Fran has started teaching singing, here is why I think it is worth your attention. 1. She’s not just a singing teacher, she’s got skin in the game. She sings at gigs and weddings frequently and her original music has got over 2m streams on Spotify. 2. She’s doesn’t describe herself as a natural, she worked hard on her voice to get where she is. Imagine two teachers one a natural and another who struggled and overcame her difficulties. Which one can help you with your sticking points. 3. She’s not interested in making you do endless boring scales and practicing only certain songs. She wants lessons to be fun and to concentrate on smaller changes that add up to a dramatic result. 4. If you’re feeling nervous about singing in front of people you don’t have to. She can critique videos that you made in the comfort of your home.

I loved our lessons… | feel a lot more confident and feel like I have found my voice… and I actually love the tone in my voice now… thank you a lot for helping me on that journey.
