Hi! My name is Rob Terry and I run Online Piano Teacher. I offer lessons for students of all ages and abilities using Skype, Zoom, Facetime and more.
I am a professional piano teacher who is based in Dunstable but is currently offering Online lessons to any student who has an internet connection. As times have changed, online lessons have become a very effective way of offering instrument lessons to students from just about anywhere.
Rest assured with the power of modern day technology I believe I can still offer a high quality learning experience and doing lessons online means you never have to leave the comfort of your own home. We are able to share resources digitally, so there will still always be things for you to be practicing on in between the lessons.

As a general teacher I have worked with students of all ages and from all walks of life as a local teacher and this applies to my online lessons also. I am happy to work with any student from the ages of 5+. I feel it's never really too early or too late to learn a new instrument.
I understand that younger students and adult students will learn differently and as such I will always tailor my teaching style to suit the individual person that I'm working with. For both young and adult learners I will always try and keep the lessons as fun and relaxed as possible.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
Both Beginner and Advanced students are welcome for the lessons, so no matter what level you're at currently don't hesitate to get in touch.
Introduction to Piano, Simple Songs and Melodies
I have been a professional pianist and teacher for more than thirty years, having performed all over the world in classical, jazz, world music and pop genres.
I have taught piano for around 30 years in my own home, traveling to pupils’ houses and in several Primary and Secondary schools. I have also taught for many years in two Music Schools.
More recently, I have been teaching online too using a multiple camera setup, including a camera placed directly above the keyboard. Having worked as a musician in many musical styles, I try to meet the individual needs of each pupil, whether they wish to learn classical, jazz or pop music.
Complex Songs, Advanced Music Theory, Ear Training Exercise
I teach all styles to grade 8 level and above, and can enter pupils into ABRSM or Trinity classical or jazz grades, Rockschool or Trinity Rock and Pop grades etc. I also enjoy teaching those who do not wish to take graded exams, and I have a catalogue of my own written arrangements of Classical, Jazz and Pop pieces to suit all tastes and abilities. In addition, I can write a bespoke arrangement of any piece a student wishes to learn, tailored to their individual needs.
I strive to be as open and honest with my students as I can be. I will always offer genuine feedback on their progress and will always do this in a very gentle way. It’s vital that all my students feel comfortable asking me questions when there is something they don’t understand and that they respect my opinion.
When working with younger learners I think it's important to keep parents up to date with every lesson. I encourage parents to sometimes sit in and observe the lessons if they wish to, which can help with productive practice between the lessons for their children. I also take notes on every lesson which can then be emailed to parents.

Lessons are £20 for half an hours or £38 for an hours tuition.
Lessons are provided online using services such as Zoom, Facetime or Skype. There are others we can try but these tend to work fine for the majority of people.
I teach students of all ages 5+.
No you can attend lessons as and when you like. I would recommend one hour a week for the most consistent progress.
Any lessons cancelled within 48 hours can still be charged for. I am happy to reschedule cancelled lessons where possible.
