Bass, Guitar & Singing Teacher in Bristol
Email: [email protected]
I started my first job teaching guitar for a company in Herts where I grew up when I was 16. Since then, through many years of refinement across multiple instruments, I’ve developed my passion for helping people to grow creatively. To me, music is a journey that encompasses individuality, spirit and willpower.
My journey with music began when I was a young teenager, keen to learn the ways of the legendary rock stars I’d grown up listening to. It has taken me across the country, given me the opportunity to work with and learn from artists like Jarvis Cocker and Richard Hawley, and provided me with the tools I need to help people achieve their musical goals and dreams, whatever they may be.
I believe that everyone should have the chance to learn about music- as we can all benefit from the therapy that music offers. Whether you want to rock out on stage or just learn how to pitch a melody, I want to help you to improve and to attain your goals, regardless of age and experience. It’s never too late to pick up an instrument.

Shane’s enthusiasm is infectious and he uses a balance between challenging and reassuring the student. (Shane: “this is too easy for you”, Me: “No it’s not I am clinging on by my fingertips here”). Having started with no ambition at all beyond enjoying singing, I am achieving much more than I thought possible. Shane has introduced me to a selection of singing material which I would not have found for myself, and it’s a pleasure to be accompanied by him on the guitar.
The lesson is a complete immersion in song and music, absorbing and intense enough to banish any thoughts other than what I have to hold in my head to sing better. It definitely beats tai chi, meditation, and hang gliding.
I love my lessons with Shane – they are really fun and I have definitely noticed improvement in my voice since I started…
I thought the lessons with Shane were great, he made me feel at ease quickly and helped me to gain confidence with singing in front of somebody.
I started learning guitar with Shane about a year ago and haven’t looked back since! He makes learning the boring stuff enjoyable and helped me to understand what was going on in the music. Really engaging and fun lessons. Don’t think I’ve missed one yet!
Shane has been my singing and guitar teacher for about 9 months now. He’s very knowledgeable on many instruments and has also helped me with songwriting and studio recording, whilst having a good laugh to boot. I started lessons to improve my backing vocals in my band Zendium Moon and my voice has improved no end to the point I’m performing main vocals on a couple of songs and also performing solo as a side project.
