Hello, my name is Nathan Reeves and I am a piano teacher and pianist based in Newbury, West Berkshire. I studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with the Head of Keyboard Emeritus Richard McMahon ARAM and received numerous lessons and masterclasses from many internationally renowned pianists. I have also studied under, Sylvia Bowden LRAM (piano professor at Uni of Southampton, and Graham Caskie ARAM (my MMus teacher).
Studying in Cardiff gave me many unforgettable performance opportunities like performing on level three of St. David’s Hall (the main classical concert venue in Cardiff), the stunning Dora Stouzker Hall at RWCMD, Newport Cathedral, and in many other venues across South Wales. Both as a soloist and as part of various ensembles.
Alongside performing, one of the most valuable experiences that I gained in Cardiff was teaching. I find it both very rewarding to see progress in students development and informing for my own playing too. Taking a step back from the piano often gives me a different perspective which opens up new approaches that feedback into my own playing.
Since moving back to Newbury, I’ve been teaching piano through Berkshire Maestros, and intensively practising for upcoming concerts. And I’m keen to find more teaching.
Whether you’re a complete beginner, looking to take your Grade 8 or Diploma, or just playing for fun, I am looking forward to hearing from you and to help develop and refine your playing.
Currently, I’m only able to offer lessons at students houses in and around the Newbury area. I can offer a reduced rate if there are two or more pupils per household.
