Teacher Info
Hi! My name is Kate and I’m a secondary performing arts school teacher in Greater Manchester. I’ve completed my degree in BA(Hons) Musical Theatre and Dance with first-class honours and have been privately teaching singing for almost 8 years now.
My degree has specialised my knowledge of the voice and introduced me to a plethora of techniques that I’ve successfully taught too many students both young and old. I believe wholeheartedly in vocal lessons being completely personalised to the needs of the student and will dedicate a lot of time to really get to know you and how best I can help you to achieve your goals.
Though my specialism is musical theatre, I am able to teach a range of styles to best suit you and your taste – after all, you have to enjoy what you’re singing to really make progress! Whether you’re just looking to become more tuneful or you’re wanting to develop a particular skill or style, I’m confident I will be able to teach you no matter what stage in your development you are.
Over the last few years, I’ve also been offering audition lessons for students who are beginning to embark on their journey to London drama colleges and other musical theatre courses. My audition etiquette classes cover everything from song choices and performance to monologue assistance, what to wear on the day and how to handle yourself in the one-to-one interviews. These sessions can either run alongside your vocal tuition or as a stand-alone set of lessons on the run-up to your audition dates.
What to expect?
My sessions always start with a thorough warm-up where, especially for beginners, we will begin to develop your knowledge on how the voice works, how to get it working effectively and what exercises we can do to improve pitch, tone and clarity. It is important to know what’s going on inside your body when you sing to make sure we’re always singing safely!
After this, the session will be completely directed by what needs YOU have. Whether that’s working on repertoire, working on further exercises or even working on a performance, each week will be tailored to ensure progress is being made for you.

I really enjoy my singing lessons with Kate which I’ve been lucky enough to continue online throughout the different lockdowns. She is really knowledgeable and we always have fun in our lessons together. I can’t recommend her enough for anyone that wants to try and build a new skill.
Kate transformed my voice entirely! After our 1:1 lesson I gained so much confidence in my singing. She pushed me to limits I didn’t know I could achieve! I’m so grateful for her lessons and I wouldn’t definitely recommend her to anyone wishing for guidance or furthering their current abilities. As well as technique I felt so much more confident after our lessons.
Such an amazing teacher! Kate was my teacher for about 3 years and my confidence and ability improved drastically all thanks to her enthusiasm and teaching which really catered to each student!
Best 1-1 singing teacher I could have asked for. Made me feel 100% comfortable and lessons were really enjoyable. I found not only my technique but confidence improved during my time with Kate. Highly HIGHLY recommend!
I was extremely nervous starting singing lessons as I’d only ever really sang in my shower and it was scary to think that I was singing up to have someone judge me and my ability.
Kate was so welcoming and accommodating with her lessons and she introduced me to so many new styles of music that really helped me to build my confidence. She really put me at ease and was nothing but positive and supportive with her teaching.
Eventually she helped me with an audition for a local amateur theatre company and I was able to land the role of “Javert” in Les Miserables, something I never thought I’d have been able to do if it wasn’t for my lessons with Kate.
I really felt like every lesson was built specifically for me and my needs. I used to say that I could just about carry a tune, but now I’d confidently tell people that yes, I am a singer!
I can’t recommend her enough!
