Teacher Info

I started my instrumental lessons at the age of 10 when I started taking instrumental lessons on the organ with the local cantor (she was responsible for playing the organ on different occasions during the church year which included accompanying the singers, choir and the churchgoers during services etc…).

Between 1988-1992 I participated every summer in a cantor course (3 weeks, from the end of June until mid-July).

In July 1993 I successfully became a cantor/church organist having passed the exam in Pécs, South Hungary.

From 1988-1989 I studied 2 years of the accordion with a visiting teacher who advised me to enrol to the local music school to study piano.

From 1989 until 1994 I studied 5 years of piano in a music school where also studied solfeggio and basic music theory.

From September 1994 until February 1997 I studied privately piano with a professor of a faculty of piano at the University of Pécs in South Hungary (during these 2 and a half years I also taught piano and solfeggio in the music school).

From September 1994 until June 1996 I studied advanced music theory at Liszt Ferenc Music School in the Szekszárd.

Between 1998 and 2004 I studied history, geography and tourism at the University of Pécs from where I graduated as a tourism advisor (BSc.) and a geography teacher (MSc.).

In June 2013 I completed a grade 5 and in November a grade 8 theory exam with ABRSM in London.

In November 2014 I completed a grade 8 piano exam with ABRSM also in London.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

I’m a qualified church organist. I have a grade 5 and a grade 8 in music theory and a grade 8 in piano by ABRSM. My level of piano playing is grade 8+.

In the last couple of years I was teaching in Loughton Music School (London) and as a visiting piano/music teacher all across the city.

All my students successfully passed their grades in piano and music theory.

I accompanied countless students on piano during their exams on string, woodwind and brass instruments.

Ervin is an amazing teacher to my son Zac. We initially started off with in-person lessons at the house but pandemic has meant that we needed to pivot to online lessons. Ervin dealt with this really well and we certainly have not noticed a drop in quality of service. Ervin is clear in his his instructing, very encouraging, and has guided my son with patience despite the challenges of online learning. I would not hesitate to recommend him to teach piano.
