About

Hello there! My name is Emmy Law – I’ve been teaching piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice lessons to students of all ages since 2010. I teach lessons online in my home studio with Zoom and FaceTime. At the end of each lesson, I send a very detailed email with all the notes from the lesson. I’m always available by text or email! I offer two recitals a year, and they’re a lot of fun. I choose the most central location for students, and my other online students Zoom in. The first lesson is always FREE. 🙂

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Georgia with concentrations in piano and voice. I also earned my Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification and student taught high school chorus.

In 2010, I began teaching in Gainesville, GA where I developed a thriving private studio. In 2016, I moved to Atlanta where I taught lessons and pursued a career as a songwriter and performer. While in Atlanta, one of my songs was voted as Immersive Atlanta’s Best Local Songs of 2019.

I moved to Nashville in February of 2021 and have been very active in the local songwriting scene. As a teacher, I firmly believe in tailoring each lesson to the student’s unique aspirations and learning style! I’m very passionate about guiding the student to finding their love of music. The goal is to have FUN while accomplishing our goals!

The best piano teacher I’ve ever had! So kind and patient knowledgeable. You can tell how much she loves music and how much she enjoys sharing it with others! You won’t regret taking a class with her!

We have three kids learning piano from Emmy, and all three of them love her. She makes it interesting for them and encourages them through all of the hard parts. She is teaching them all of the required theory and skills while also keeping it exciting by always helping them find songs that they want to play. She is also flexible and does a great job of customizing the lessons for each of my kids’ skill level and interests. Her personality and teaching approach have made all three of my kids stick with lessons for over two years now and they are all growing.

My son and daughter have been taking lessons from Emmy for several years (both in person and virtual). They have both progressed significantly in their playing abilities, and because they truly enjoy working with Emmy, the weekly sessions are both easy and rewarding. Given the choice, they both chose to continue virtual lessons with her rather than find another teacher in town which says a lot! She has connected with both of them and, as a parent, it is a joy to see and to hear!

Honestly I want to say firstly that Emmy is a great listener and brings you things to work on based on what you say you admire. She keeps pushing you based on who you want to be. She has a strong musical background and it shows in her teaching.

My son, who is 9, has been taking guitar lessons from Emmy for a couple years. Emmy’s love of music and kids is evident. She has taught my son so much in a short time and has even inspired him to write his own music.

My son has been taking piano lessons with Emmy for a couple of years. She is so kind and encouraging, and really tailors his lessons to his interests, attention span, and personality. She pushes him to grow and learn, but never to a point that he says something is too hard or he is resistant. Emmy also encourages him to be creative and experiment, which is fun for him. 12/10, highly recommend.

Two of my children took piano lessons from Emmy Law Music and they enjoyed her fun, engaging and encouraging approach from day one. She was punctual, always professional, and keen to understanding the needs and strengths of both of my children. I would highly recommend Emmy Law Music Studio to anyone who is interested in fostering a love of music in their child.

Emmy is a versatile teacher who specializes in piano, and this gives me a unique experience as a guitar student because her knowledge scope incorporates her skill and passion beyond just guitar. She’s thorough, forgiving, and encouraging. I never would have progressed to where I am now without her!
