About

Hi! I’m Niall – a Guitar Tutor and Producer, based in Birmingham and the West Midlands with over 15 years of experience in the music industry. I hold a Bachelors degree in Music Performance, which I attained in 2017, graduating with a 1st for performance.

Originally self taught, I studied under a number of renowned musicians to develop my skills and knowledge before embarking on my own career as a professional musician. I always tailor my teaching methods to each pupil, with a unique focus on you as an individual. As part of my personal teaching philosophy, I strongly encourage every student to learn at their own pace, in their own way and I believe that my bespoke, personalised approach will make my lessons both unique and suitable to you.

I offer guitar tuition both privately and for groups & schools and I always place an emphasis on serving the students’ needs first – let me teach you how you want to learn!

That being said, I will also help you achieve your formal grades, if you so wish and I have experience of the the numerous different grading schools, from Rockschool, to Trinity and ABRSM with a proven pass rate for my students.

Qualifications & Achievements:

  • Bmus Popular Music Performance (honours)
  • Performed at the esteemed What Career? Live showcase at the NEC Birmingham to over 20,000 people in 2016.
  • Over a decade of gigging, recording and touring experience.

Cancelation & Rescheduling Policy

I understand that from time to time circumstances out of your control may arise, however, due to the time spent preparing for lessons, the potential for lost income and the difficulty filling empty spaces at the last minute, I require a minimum of 24 hours notice from the student to cancel any scheduled lessons. Where possible, cancellations should be made over the phone, or at the very least, via text message, as I cannot always guarantee that I will see an email in time.

Reasonable exceptions for exceptional circumstances may apply but as a general rule, the full amount of the lesson fee will be required for any late cancellation once the aforementioned 24 hour period has elapsed. For any cancellations within 48 hours, 50% of the lesson fee will be required, provided no suitable alternative lesson time can be agreed upon within a 7-day period.

This is done to ensure minimum disruption to both the tutor and the student’s learning.

“Niall has been teaching my 5/6-year-old son to play the guitar over the summer holidays and he really has come on in leap & bounds. Niall is an extremely patient & friendly teacher who makes the lesson fun yet informative and engages the child and their needs. He has given my son even more enthusiasm for playing the guitar and has at the same time taught him how to read music on a basic level which is great! Thanks, Niall!”
