Hello, my name is James Coleman and I'm a professional guitar teacher offering individually tailored guitar lessons in Yeovil. My lessons are ideal for beginner students, as well as more advanced learners, who interested in rapidly developing their guitar playing ability.
I am a mobile guitar teacher, helping students across the Yeovil area to develop their guitar playing ability. I like to make sure my lessons are always enjoyable and built around the musical styles that inspired you to start playing the guitar. This student lead approach has enabled me to have fantastic results with students, with the songs that we choose for our lessons being a key motivating factor in their development.
Students can choose to learn acoustic or electric guitar (or both!), as matches their individual interest. My lessons include technical exercises that will really help you to hone your guitar playing ability.

I have a wide range of musical interests and I'm happy to teach a wide range of genres too. I can teach rock, jazz, pop, blues, funk, metal and many more styles.
I have experience teaching both adults and children and welcome students from the ages of 9 years old and upwards. For younger learners I have developed a great course of lessons to help the learn the fundamentals of playing the guitar.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I welcome both beginner and advanced players, helping my students learn to play the guitar through carefully built courses of lessons that match their musical interests.

I am a guitar teacher with over 10 years experience and a degree from the University of Westminster in Music Performance and BTEC level 3 Extended diploma in Music with a Triple Distinction
Guitar has been my passion for as long as I can remember and my aim as a teacher is to instil this passion into my students. I feel that learning the guitar is not just about knowing chords, scales and passing grades, but knowing how to use these skills to write songs, create melodies, having great guitar tone and playing killer solos by yourself, in a band or with friends.
Alongside my guitar teaching I have also been an active musician, having done several tours and festivals in the UK as a lead guitarist with bands, in both Rock & Ska music scenes.
For more advanced learners my lessons focus on helping them to develop their creativity on guitar
I valve myself as being a very patient and understanding person when it comes to teaching the guitar, my lessons are always a comfortable friendly environment where my only goal is to make you the best player you can be.
I have extensive performing experience in a wide range of different genres and I am more than happy to personalise your guitar learning experience with these things in mind. I also cover string changing, guitar maintenance tips and showing you a vast array of musicians that you can draw experience from to help your playing.

As a professional guitar teacher and experienced musician I am keen to share with you the skills that you need to develop to play the guitar with accuracy and confidence. I will always make a lesson plan that you feel comfortable with and we will set out to reach the goals that you want to achieve.

My lessons are charged at £15 per half hour and £25 per hour for all students.
I'm a mobile teacher which means that I will travel to you for your lessons.
I teach both adults and children ages 9 and above.
The frequency of our lessons is entirely up to you as the student. I would recommend taking a lesson either once per week or fortnightly to ensure a consistent learning process.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will still be charged full price.
