  Something Better than Zoom

  I was having a lot of issues using Zoom, Skype, etc. for online lessons (which is all I’ve been doing since COVID.

  I ended up customizing my own platform based on a program called Jitsi (essentially open source Zoom). My version simplifies the interface, and joining process compared to others. Plus there is no additional audio processing enabled (removing the need to select “Original Sound for Musicians: On” in Zoom), and video/audio run at higher quality by default. It is optimized for private 1 on 1 lessons currently, but I’m looking into expanding it for group sessions too.

  I’ve used it for my online lessons for over a year, but I think other teachers might be interested. If anyone would like to try it out or learn more connect with me!
